- Spread margarita salt evenly in a shallow plate. Run lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass to moisten. Turn glass upside down and dip in salt plate. Give a tap to shake off excess salt.
- Fill 3/4 glass with ice cubes. Combine tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau in glass. Stir well. Garnish with lime wedge along side of rim. Lime wedge also allows your guests to squeeze more lime juice into their own cocktail if they prefer a tarter margarita.
- This cocktail recipe is stiff. Allow the ice to dilute a bit. Serve and enjoy!
*Alternatively: Cointreau is a quality orange-flavored liquor. It is not inexpensive. If you're serving a large party and don't want to spend too much, you may replace Cointreau with triple sec, a cheaper alternative.
